In the MLB playoffs, the Chicago White Sox scored three runs in the sixth to edge the Cleveland Guardians 4 to 3, taking a 2-0 ALDS lead. The Tampa Bay Rays also went up 2-0, beating the New York Yankees 5 to 2 behind Richie Palacios’ two-run single in a four-run fifth. In NBA preseason play, the Los Angeles Lakers topped the Sacramento Kings 127 to 103, and the Philadelphia 76ers handled the New York Knicks 120 to 97. Looking ahead, the MLB postseason leads Tuesday with the Los Angeles Dodgers visiting the Atlanta Braves in a tied NLDS.
