In the WNBA Finals, the Golden State Valkyries beat the Atlanta Dream 67 to 62 behind Gabby Williams’ 17 points, evening the series 2-2. In UFC, Alexander Volkanovski stopped Movsar Evloev late in Round 2 to retain the featherweight title. In the NBA, Joel Embiid’s triple-double carried the Philadelphia 76ers past the Milwaukee Bucks 127 to 116, while Devin Booker scored 43 as the Phoenix Suns beat the Golden State Warriors 131 to 122. The Denver Nuggets rallied from 23 down to top the New Orleans Pelicans 141 to 135 in overtime, the San Antonio Spurs beat the Dallas Mavericks 122 to 106, and the Charlotte Hornets edged the Miami Heat 115 to 110. Looking ahead, the NFL starts Sunday in Paris, where the Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints play the league’s first regular-season game in France. Aaron Rodgers enters after completing 68.8 percent of his passes with five touchdowns and one interception over Pittsburgh’s past two games. The Cincinnati Bengals visit the Baltimore Ravens in an AFC North race where every team has a winning record, then the 5-0 Kansas City Chiefs visit the Seattle Seahawks as former Seattle Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III returns with 665 rushing yards for Kansas City. In Formula 1, Kimi Antonelli starts the United States Grand Prix from pole and can become the youngest world champion with a win and help elsewhere. Monday brings Game 5 of the tied WNBA Finals, with the Dream visiting the Valkyries, and World Series Game 3, with the Brewers at the Rays and Robert Gasser facing former Milwaukee ace Freddy Peralta. And tomorrow is the sports equinox where all four major north american sports leagues will host games on the same day!
