Brewers near first title, Valkyries seize 3-2 Finals lead, Cowboys overpower Eagles

Brewers headline the sports equinox!

This is The Sports Reset for Tuesday October 27th

Yesterday was the 33rd ever sports equinox with games across every major league. In the World Series, the Milwaukee Brewers routed the Tampa Bay Rays 10 to 1, taking a 3-0 lead with a chance to clinch their first championship Tuesday. Jackson Chourio delivered four hits, while Robert Gasser allowed one hit over six scoreless innings. Milwaukee broke it open with a record eight two-out runs in the fifth. In the WNBA Finals, the Golden State Valkyries beat the Atlanta Dream 64 to 55 for a 3-2 series lead, as Kiah Stokes had 13 points, eight rebounds and three blocks. In the NFL, the Dallas Cowboys beat the Philadelphia Eagles 38 to 21 behind Dak Prescott’s three touchdown passes and Javonte Williams’ career-high 155 rushing yards. In the NBA, the Boston Celtics beat the Chicago Bulls 134 to 99, the Cleveland Cavaliers edged the Minnesota Timberwolves 127 to 125, and the Golden State Warriors topped the Denver Nuggets 134 to 114. In the NHL, the Los Angeles Kings beat the New York Rangers 6 to 3.

Looking ahead, the Brewers meet the Rays in World Series Game 4 on Tuesday night, with Milwaukee’s top relievers rested after Gasser worked deep into Game 3. No team has recovered from a 3-0 World Series deficit, so Tampa Bay must win to extend its season. In the NBA, the Brooklyn Nets visit the Celtics, while the unbeaten Detroit Pistons face the winless New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. The Sacramento Kings visit the San Antonio Spurs, and the unbeaten Portland Trail Blazers meet the unbeaten Los Angeles Lakers. The WNBA Finals return Thursday, when the Valkyries take their 3-2 lead to Atlanta for Game 6 at State Farm Arena. Beyond the scoreboard, Jay-Z will headline the Super Bowl 61 halftime show at SoFi Stadium in February, his first appearance as a Super Bowl performer.
