In the World Cup final, Spain beat Argentina 1 to 0 in extra time at MetLife Stadium to win the title. Ferran Torres delivered the deciding goal in the 106th minute off Nico Williams’ setup, and Argentina never put a shot on goal across 120 minutes. In golf, Ryan Fox won The Open at 10 under, one shot ahead of Cameron Young, after birdieing the 72nd hole for his first major. Stefano Mazzoli also finished off the Corales Puntacana Championship at 20 under. In Formula 1, Kimi Antonelli won the Belgian Grand Prix ahead of Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen, passing Leclerc late and stretching his title lead. In NASCAR, Joey Logano held off Denny Hamlin at North Wilkesboro for his first Cup win of the season. On the ATP courts, Andrey Rublev beat Luciano Darderi in straight sets at the Nordea Open, and Stefanos Tsitsipas topped Raphael Collignon in three sets in Gstaad.

Looking ahead, the MLB schedule has a full Monday reset, led by the Los Angeles Dodgers visiting the Philadelphia Phillies, the Pittsburgh Pirates at the New York Yankees, and the San Diego Padres at the Atlanta Braves after San Diego’s 19 to 2 win on Sunday. The Baltimore Orioles and Boston Red Sox also pick it back up at Fenway Park, while the New York Mets head to Milwaukee to face the Brewers.
