Dodgers win the duel!

In MLB, the Los Angeles Dodgers edged the Philadelphia Phillies 2 to 1, with Max Muncy’s two-run homer in the fourth flipping a tight game after Alec Bohm singled home Bryce Harper in the first. The Tampa Bay Rays rolled past the Toronto Blue Jays 12 to 2 behind three-run homers from Nick Fortes and Yandy Diaz, plus a season-high 21 hits. The New York Mets cooled off the Milwaukee Brewers 4 to 0 as rookie Zac Thornton earned his first career win, and the San Diego Padres beat the Atlanta Braves 8 to 3 with Fernando Tatis Jr. driving in three and Manny Machado homering twice. The Texas Rangers blanked the Chicago White Sox 10 to 0 behind six one-hit innings from Kumar Rocker.

Looking ahead in MLB, Dodgers-Phillies gets another strong headliner, with Shohei Ohtani listed to start against Aaron Nola in Philadelphia. The New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Pirates also have a doubleheader after Tuesday’s rainout, and the Baltimore Orioles and Boston Red Sox do the same at Fenway after their own makeup. In the WNBA, the Indiana Fever host the Connecticut Sun, while the New York Liberty host the Chicago Sky, the Las Vegas Aces visit the Washington Mystics, and the Minnesota Lynx go to the Seattle Storm. Later this week, Phillies-Yankees gives the weekend a national baseball series with plenty of star power.
