Aces answer late!

That result keeps Las Vegas in the thick of the top-tier race, while the Liberty missed a chance to turn a road game against a contender into a stronger midseason marker. The Minnesota Lynx also made it loud, rolling past the Toronto Tempo 104 to 72.

In MLB, the Los Angeles Dodgers handled the Seattle Mariners 6 to 2, a useful win for a Dodgers team already sitting in the National League’s top tier. The Chicago White Sox edged the New York Yankees 2 to 1, and that one stings for New York because the Yankees are trying to chase down the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League East.

Looking ahead, MLB owns the day, and New York Yankees at Chicago Cubs has real deadline-week weight, with both clubs sitting in buyer territory and trying to patch pitching or lineup needs before Monday. Boston Red Sox at Los Angeles Dodgers is the other big one, with Boston trying to prove its recent surge can travel against one of baseball’s best teams.
