The Indiana Fever edged the Chicago Sky 90 to 86 as Kelsey Mitchell scored 27 and set a league record with her 16th consecutive 20-point game, while Caitlin Clark finished with 26 points and 11 assists. In UFC, Quillan Salkilld defeated eighth-ranked Mateusz Gamrot in the lightweight main event. In WTA tennis, Carol Young Suh Lee beat Gabriela Knutson in straight sets to win the Warsaw T-Mobile Polish Open. In MLB, the New York Yankees held off the Atlanta Braves 5 to 4.
Looking ahead, the PGA Wyndham Championship enters its final round with Michael Brennan and Beau Hossler tied at 16 under, one shot ahead of Tom Kim. Brennan arrived with only one top-10 finish in 17 PGA Tour starts this season, and now has a chance to turn his strongest week into a victory. In the WNBA, Las Vegas immediately heads to Barclays Center to face the New York Liberty, who have won three straight and are 9 and 3 at home. The Lynx also host the Dallas Wings after Miles’ 26-point performance. In NASCAR, the Cup Series races at Iowa Speedway, with points leader Tyler Reddick carrying a substantial advantage over Denny Hamlin. In MLB, the Yankees and Braves meet again after Saturday’s one-run finish, while the Los Angeles Dodgers continue their series with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Later this week, UFC 330 features Islam Makhachev defending the welterweight title against Ian Machado Garry on Saturday.
