Yankees power past Seattle!

This is The Sports Reset for Thursday August 13th

In MLB, the New York Yankees rallied past the Seattle Mariners 10 to 5. Trent Grisham went three for five with two homers, four RBIs and three runs, while Spencer Jones added three RBIs as the Yankees broke a 5-all tie with five runs over the final two innings. That pushed New York to 68 and 52. The Chicago Cubs also rolled past the Washington Nationals 12 to 6. Looking ahead, the WTA National Bank Open title comes down to Iga Swiatek against Elena Rybakina. Rybakina won their Australian Open quarterfinal in straight sets earlier this year, adding some recent history to the championship matchup. In MLB, the Philadelphia Phillies and Minnesota Twins meet in Iowa for the third Field of Dreams Game and the first there since 2022. In the NFL preseason, six games include the Green Bay Packers visiting the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Indianapolis Colts meeting the New England Patriots after those teams held joint practices this week. In golf, the FedEx St. Jude Championship begins at TPC Southwind with a 20 million dollar purse, while Jackson Koivun, Sam Stevens and Pierceson Coody open at even par. In the WNBA, the Los Angeles Sparks visit the New York Liberty, and the Washington Mystics face the Las Vegas Aces.
