Atlanta ended Los Angeles’ six-game winning streak and tightened the race for a National League first-round bye. The Houston Astros rallied past the New York Yankees 9 to 7 as Yainer Diaz homered twice and Yordan Alvarez broke a tie with an eighth-inning triple. In the WNBA, Paige Bueckers posted 22 points and 11 assists as the Dallas Wings beat the Portland Fire 96 to 78, clinching the final playoff berth and setting a franchise record with their 23rd win. In UFC’s Contender Series, Alex Apodaca outstruck Bella Mir and won their bantamweight main event by unanimous decision, earning a UFC contract in a major betting upset.

Up next, MLB brings the Dodgers and Braves back together, with Los Angeles at 80-and-52 and Atlanta three games behind at 77-and-55 in the chase for postseason seeding. The Astros and Yankees also run it back after Houston scored six runs against New York’s bullpen in the opener. In the WNBA, the Golden State Valkyries visit the Connecticut Sun with a 26-and-11 record, and league-leading production of 10.6 made threes per game has powered their attack.
