Rebels get their revenge, Alabama rallies past Florida State, Chiefs host Colts on NFL Sunday
Rebels get their revenge!
This is The Sports Reset for Sunday September 20th
In college football, the Ole Miss Rebels beat the LSU Tigers 32 to 24, and Trinidad Chambliss delivered the finish in Lane Kiffin’s return to Oxford. Chambliss ran for the go-ahead fourth-quarter touchdown, finished with 363 passing yards and two scores, and watched the Rebels make a final stand at their 6-yard line. The Alabama Crimson Tide erased a 21 to 6 deficit and beat the Florida State Seminoles 50 to 36, while the Kentucky Wildcats stunned the Texas A&M Aggies 31 to 21. In MLB, Mookie Betts went four for four with three doubles as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Francisco Giants 10 to 4, and the New York Mets routed the Philadelphia Phillies 10 to 3. In the WNBA, Angel Reese had 23 points and 10 rebounds, becoming the first player with 500 rebounds in a season as the Atlanta Dream beat the Chicago Sky 106 to 81. In NASCAR, Joey Logano passed Carson Hocevar and Ty Gibbs with seven laps left to win at Bristol. In UFC, Joshua Van retained the flyweight title over Alexandre Pantoja by unanimous decision. In WTA tennis, Iva Jovic beat Peyton Stearns in straight sets to retain the Guadalajara title.
Looking ahead, NFL Sunday closes with the Indianapolis Colts at the Kansas City Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes showed encouraging mobility in his return from an ACL tear, and Kenneth Walker III powered Kansas City’s ground game in the opener, while Indianapolis managed only 251 yards. The Minnesota Vikings visit the Chicago Bears with both teams unbeaten, the Miami Dolphins meet the San Francisco 49ers, the Philadelphia Eagles try the Tennessee Titans, and the Washington Commanders meet the Dallas Cowboys with both chasing a first win. In PGA golf, Neal Shipley takes a one-shot lead over Ben Kohles into the Biltmore Championship final round after three bogey-free rounds. In MLB, the 89-and-65 New York Yankees visit the 81-and-74 Arizona Diamondbacks, while the 97-and-58 Milwaukee Brewers finish their series with the Baltimore Orioles. In the WNBA, the Indiana Fever host the Washington Mystics, and the Seattle Storm visit the Las Vegas Aces. Off the field, the NFL now requires stadium video boards to show the same All-22 angle or a static image for both teams during kicks after a New England Patriots display tactic drew scrutiny.
